Poker is known to be a man’s game
but that doesn’t keep these 5 ladies away. They can actually beat the best men
in the poker world. So, here are the luckiest Indian ladies who have come to
the mainstream Poker tournaments worldwide.
Monisha Jain: Monisha Jain started her poker career in 2010 from a
Facebook game. Later on she got invited in a Poker event by Casino Royale where
she played her first live poker game and walked away with a profit. She has
played in all the three poker casinos in Goa namely Deltin Royale, Casino Pride and Casino
Carnival. She is also an avid player in PokerStars online poker website.
Muskan
Sethi: She began her Poker career in an early age of 12 years. She used to
play card games with her family and friends during major festivals in India
like Diwali from where she got more interested in Poker. Even though she
doesn’t love to play online, she is a frequent player at Ceasar’s Palace where
she finished fourth in a small live poker tournament. She says she hasn’t achieved anything yet and
still in a learning process.
Niharika
Bindra: Niharika plays poker twice a week with her friends. She
loves to play cash games because of the excitement it provides. She has been a
winner in major poker events in Goa and also had cashed on PokerStars. She
loves to play live poker rather than going online. She’s also a big fan of Phil
Ivy and Tom Dwan because of the way they play.
Nikitha
Luther: Nikitha has been playing poker for more than 4 years now.
She knows the ups and downs of the poker player and is well aware to have that
Poker face when she’s having a good/bad hand. She mostly plays in Delhi circuit
with her friends. Her biggest achievement is winning a 5K satellite to get to
the 100K main event. She ran deep in
the 25k, finished 10th (no
cash) and went on to win the satellite for the 100k main event! She also
prefers to play live cash game for the action it provides.
Simrit
Tiwana: Simrit plays poker two to three times a week. She prefers
only cash games and candidly claims to be a bad tournament player, as she
cannot spare the time for the practice and regimen it requires. Her favorite
way to play, is deep stacked, long cash game of Texas Hold’em Poker, 6 to 8
handed. Simrit acknowledges her group to be a fun one, with players of all ages,
including young experts, who she learns from.
